Calling all Swifties!
Whether or not you’re one of the lucky ones with tickets to see Taylor Swift at one of her two sold-out shows next week at Lumen Field, you can get in on the fun by joining me at Tuesday’s King County Council meeting to proclaim the week of July 17th as Taylor Swift Week in King County.
Taylor is not only one of the most popular artists in the world, but a positive role model for women and girls. She has used her stardom to encourage her fans to register to vote and get civically involved, led by example as she stood up for herself against sexual harassment, and has been outspoken in her support of the LGBTQ+ community. Join me at 1:30 on Tuesday in the King County Council Chambers to celebrate all Taylor has accomplished and what she means to fans of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
August Primary ballots mailed
This week, King County Elections mailed approximately 1.4 million ballots for the August 1st primary. If you are registered to vote, you should receive your ballot by Monday, July 17th. If you don’t, you can call 206-296-VOTE (8683) to request a replacement ballot. If you aren’t registered to vote but are eligible, there’s still time! Register to vote online by July 24th or at a Vote Center location up until 8:00pm on Election Day.
Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day (no postage necessary!) or returned by 8:00pm on Election Day at one of 76 drop boxes across the county. Once you have voted, track your ballot through King County Elections’ ballot tracker—make sure your voice is heard!
