First Precinct 2 Newsletter
Welcome!
Hello,
We are thrilled to bring you the first edition of our King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) Precinct 2 Community Newsletter, a dedicated platform designed to enhance communication within our vibrant community. As your local law enforcement agency, we believe that staying connected is essential for building a safer and more cohesive environment.
We will keep you informed about the latest events, important crime statistics, valuable safety tips, and memorable moments. Our goal is to create a space where you can feel connected and well-informed about what's happening in our community.
As we embark on this journey, we invite you to share this Newsletter with your friends, neighbors, and anyone interested in community information. We believe that by sharing information as a team, we can build a safer, stronger and more connected community that we can all take pride in.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to connecting with you!

CALL 9-1-1!
If you ever find yourself witnessing a potential crime or suspicious circumstance, trust your instincts and call 911! Our deputies don't know what's happening unless you tell us. We've provided a pamphlet below that goes into additional detail about what constitutes suspicious activity.
Suspicious Activity Pamphlet
The KCSO 911 Communcations Center will provide you with direction on ways to report online. They may also take a phone report in house or dispatch a deputy to your location if requested or necessary.

Summer Safety Tips
As we head into summer, we wanted to share some tips to remember when out on the water or hiking in the mountains.
When hiking:
-
Stay aware of your surroundings: Be vigilant and stay alert to what's happening around you.
-
Share your plans: Whether hiking alone or with a group, inform someone about your plans, including your expected route and estimated time of return.
-
Park in well-lit areas: When parking your vehicle at trailheads, choose well-lit areas that are visible to others.
-
Lock your car: don't leave any valuables in plain sight. If possible, take your belongings with you or store them in your trunk PRIOR to arriving at your destination.
When on the water:
With summer here, it is a perfect time for reminders about water safety! Below are a couple of video clips from last year from our KCSO Marine Unit:
As summer approaches, officials remind boaters to be safe on the water.
Avoiding the dangers of cold-water shock.
Although the weather is warm, our local lakes and rivers are still very cold and dangerous. Whether you’re on a boat, kayak, paddle board or just swimming, we want to remind folks how important it is to have proper fitting life vests. Never swim alone and know your limitations, especially when you are monitoring your kids or other small children.
You can view additional water safety tips from our partners at the American Red Cross HERE.
Fireworks:
Recreational use and or lighting of fireworks with King County is prohibited. For more information about fireworks, outdoor burn bans, and how to report violators, you can visit King County Local Services HERE.
