We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is in April or May, so make sure you apply soon.

Featured Grant Opportunity
District 3 Annual Council Grants [DEADLINE: 5/1]
Applications are due by 5PM on Monday, May 1st. Apply now at this link.
Details: Investing in our local government and non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding will ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future. Local government agencies and nonprofit organizations located in King County District 3 are eligible to apply for any of these four grants, and details are below.

Community Service Grants: Community Service Operating grants can be awarded to any non-profit or local government to help further community needs. We have a total of $25,000 to award in 2023 and there is no minimum.

Veterans Service Organization Grants: Veterans Service Organization grants can be awarded to any veterans’ services organization for any reason. We have a total of $5,000 to award in 2023, with a minimum award of $2,500 each.

Housing Stability Grants: Grants can be awarded to city or county-level government agencies, unincorporated areas, tribes, or community-based organizations that support local housing stability. We have a total of $27,000 to award in 2023, with a minimum award of $5,000 each.

Get Active Stay Active - Youth or Senior Grants: Grants can be awarded to organizations who provide youth and amateur sports and fitness programs, or organizations who support programs for senior residents. Funding can be used for program implementation costs, such as coaching or space rentals, camp and program fee scholarships, athletic and fitness equipment, or capital projects. We have a total of $100,000 to award in 2023 and there is no minimum.

1. Family & Community Developmental Screening RFP
Applications are due Thursday, April 20th by 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this RFP is to fund developmental programs and learning opportunities in partnership with groups and organizations that demonstrate the following attributes: culturally rooted, family-centered, relationship-based, and strengths-based and inclusive. There is a total of $7.09 million to be allocated.

2. Career Pathways for Youth Affected by Gun Violence
Applications are due Thursday, April 20th by 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this grant is to fund gun violence prevention programs in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency of violent crime and gun violence. King County seeks to fund data-informed, community-focused violence deterrence/intervention programs for youth ages 12-28 who have been directly or indirectly affected by gun violence. There is a total of $1 million to be allocated.

3. Creative Start Project Grant
Applications are due Thursday, April 27th by 5PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this grant is to support projects that engage preschool to 3rd grade students in arts integrated learning. This one-year grant prioritizes the students’ creative, academic, and social emotional growth. It supports collaborations between early learning educators, schools, families, arts specialists, teaching artists, and organizations. Proposed projects should increase culturally relevant student learning in and through the arts. Applicants can apply for up to $20,000 in funding.

4. Family Forest Fish Passage Program
Applications are due Monday, May 1st. Apply now at this link.
Details: Small forest landowners own about 4 million acres of forests in Washington–about half the private forestland in the state. These family forests are home to thousands of miles of fish-bearing streams and play a key role in helping Washington restore its once thriving fish populations, and in order to help fix fish blockages, the state is offering financial assistance to homeowners. There is a total of $5.9 million to be allocated.

5. Human Services Bus Ticket Program (HSBTP)

Details: The purpose of this RFP it to provide organizations seeking discounted bus tickets for distribution to homeless and/or low-income individuals with King County Metro Bus tickets ($85,000 in allotment value). Eligible groups include nonprofits, local governments, public housing authorities and federally recognized tribes. There is a total of $850,000 available in face value of King County Metro Bus tickets.

6. Increasing Blood Lead Testing for Children in King County

Details: The purpose of this RFP is to prevent childhood lead poisoning, identify and reduce exposures to environmental toxics, and equitably improve health outcomes, especially for communities of color. Applicants will work to improve blood lead testing rates among focus communities, including, Medicaid-eligible children and their families, immigrant and refugee families with young children, and BIPOC families. There is a total of $900,000 to be allocated.

7. Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Planning, Development, and Implementation Grant

Details: The purpose of this program is to transform community behavioral health systems and provide comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health care through Community-based behavioral health non-profit organizations, or organizations. There is a total of $61.8 million to be allocated.

8. Arts Service Organization Support
Applications are due Tuesday, May 23rd by 5PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this grant is to offer operating support to non-profit arts service organizations that provide programming to support, increase, diversify, and raise the proficiency of arts professionals in the field. An Arts Service Organization (ASO) provides training, workshops, convenings, conferences, networking, technical assistance, and other professional development services to established and emerging arts professionals. Applicants can apply for up to $20,000 in funding.

9. Rural Communities Opioid Response Program – Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health

Details: The purpose of this program from the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is to establish and expand sustainable behavioral health care services for children and adolescents aged 5-17 years who live in rural communities, and to prevent substance misuse. Award recipients will use funding to establish and expand service delivery, provide training and peer mentorship, and develop community partnerships. There is a total of $9 million to be allocated.

10. Capital Program RFP
Applications are due Friday, May 26th by 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The purpose of this RFP is to provide contracts for building repairs, renovations and new construction or expansion to improve access to high quality programs and services for low-income children, young people, and families, with a priority for those serving BIPOC, rural, or low-income communities. This includes renovations to multi-use Community Centers, Early Learning Centers, Child Care, or Recreational Facilities to address critical health and safety issues. There is a total of $4.7 million to be allocated.

11. Collections Care Grant

Details: The purpose of the annual Collections Care grant program is to support the work of King County non-profit heritage organizations by providing the funds necessary to assess, organize, catalog, clean, repair, document, digitize, and, ultimately, preserve heritage resources in King County. Applicants can apply for up to $8,000 in funding.

12. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

13. US Affordable Connectivity Program

Details: The Affordable Connectivity Program is a US Government program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices like a laptop or tablet.

14. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

15. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

16. King County Child Care Financial Assistance Program

Details: King County has allocated $7 million of its federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding to support King County families with the cost of their child care. Eligible families may receive financial assistance to pay for their child care at eligible providers.
