Beginning this week, King County is sharing the early concepts for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan, a 20-year plan that guides how people live, work, and play in the County’s unincorporated communities (places outside of city limits).

They are seeking feedback on whether these proposals are headed in the right direction via email, a short feedback survey, or at two virtual town hall meetings (Feb. 9 & Feb. 16).
Feedback on these comprehensive plan proposals is open through February 24, 2023. Following this feedback period, King County staff will use the public input to guide the refinement of these proposals for the Public Review Draft of the 2024 Comprehensive Plan, which will be available for public review and comment in June 2023.

The King Conservation District is a special purpose district, funded by you, with a mission to promote the sustainable use of natural resources through responsible stewardship in King County. The KCD election for Seat #3 on its Board of Supervisors is underway now and ends February 14, 2023.

The King Conservation District election primarily relies on electronic ballots, with alternative options for printing and mailing in ballots. The District includes all registered voters in King County (excluding the cities of Enumclaw, Federal Way, Milton, Pacific, and Skykomish, which do not participate in the District). King County Elections will tabulate all ballots and report results as it does with all elections.

Child care assistance is available!
Last year, the King County Council allocated $7 million of our federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars to support King County families with the cost of child care. If you live or work in King County and your income, work, or health has been affected by COVID-19, you may be eligible for this financial assistance, which is being administered by Child Care Resources. You can review the eligibility criteria and apply here:
