Today, our country unites to celebrate the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His life reminds us that we all play a role in changing our world for the better, and that we are even stronger when we work together.

On Martin Luther King Day, may we remember his courage, his wisdom, and his vision of a more perfect union—one that is more free, more just, and affirms the value of every person in our community.

There's Still Time! Apply Today for the KCSO Community Advisory Board

Councilmember Reagan Dunn meets with law enforcement officers

The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is seeking applicants to serve on the newly formed KCSO Community Advisory Board. The purpose of the KCSO Community Advisory Board is to gather a diverse set of public safety experts and advocates to support and advise both the Sheriff and the King County Executive on creating a just, dynamic, and responsive public safety system.  

The Community Advisory Board will have between 10 and 15 members, drawn from the following categories:

• Unincorporated Rural King County;
• Unincorporated Urban King County;
• KCSO Contract Cities;
• Community Groups; and
• Business Groups

King County 2024 Conservation Futures Grants

Conservation Futures grants can help acquire parks and open spaces for passive recreation such as urban greenspaces, natural areas, forests, community gardens, farms, and trails. There may be opportunities to partner on green stormwater park acquisitions, or help create open space or community gardens near affordable housing developments.

Applications are due on Monday, March 6^th, 2023. Visit the Conservation Futures application webpage for more information. 

4Culture Project Grants

4Culture Project grants can help you put your ideas in motion and share them with King County. Grants are awarded in three disciplines: arts, heritage, and preservation.
