We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future! The deadline for these grants is in December or January, so make sure you apply soon.
Additionally, we have an opportunity for seniors to get support with property tax payment relief through the Senior Tax Exemption. Click below for more information:
Grant and Funding Sources
The following grant opportunities are listed in order of application due date, with the soonest deadline listed first. Any applications that have rolling deadlines are located towards the bottom of the list.
1. Alan M. Painter Grant Program
Applications are due Friday, December 9th at 5PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County’s Alan M. Painter Grant Program funds community projects that allow unincorporated area residents to participate in, and be more connected to, their communities and King County. A total of $90,000 will be reimbursed for projects in 2023, in individual grants of less than $5,000 per project. Funding for projects will begin in March 2023.

2. Washington Women’s Foundation (WaWF) 2023 Collective Grants
Applications are due Thursday, December 15th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Washington Women’s Foundation (WaWF) announced their priorities for the 2023 Collective Grants! As year two of their two-year grantmaking cycle, the funding themes for the 2023 Collective Grants are: 1) Climate & Agricultural Justice; 2) Education; 3) Healthcare. If you are an organization involved in any of these areas of work, make sure to apply for this opportunity.

3. Help Me Grow RFP
Applications are due Thursday, December 15th at 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Help Me Grow King County (HMGKC) strategy is based on Help Me Grow, a national model designed to support families and their children by connecting them to what they need, when and how they need it. Best Starts for Kids is seeking proposals from organizations to partner with organizations investing in Early (prenatal to five years old) strategies. There is approximately $5 million available in this RFP.

4. Letter of Interest for Best Starts Capital Funding
Letters of Intent are due Monday, December 19th at 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This Best Starts Capital Program will provide funding to support equitable, community-driven developments that provide resources to low-income families and communities of color. These developments will create a safe place for young people and access to caring adults that offer stimulating expanded learning programs, including high-quality educational or recreational programming for children and young people. There is approximately $11.9 million available in this RFP in two phases.

5. Legal Services for Homeless Veterans and Veterans At-Risk for Homelessness Grant

Details: The new Legal Services for Homeless Veterans and Veterans At-Risk for Homelessness Grant Program’s purpose is to provide legal services grants to public or non-profit private entities who will provide legal services to eligible Veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness. The goal of the Grant Program is to assist homeless and at-risk Veterans who have unaddressed needs for legal services, which may create barriers to housing stability.

6. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Program

Details: King County and our partners can provide technical assistance and capacity building to community-based organizations and nonprofits receiving federal COVID-19 funding. To provide technical assistance and capacity building, King County has allocated $400,000 through 2022 to contract with organizations and businesses that have the expertise to provide services to potential applicants and grantees.

7. Pride Foundation’s Scholarship Program

Details: This scholarship program supports LGBTQ+ students who are leaders—in their own lives, in their families, in their home communities, in their fields of study, in their workplaces, or in movements for justice. Applicants must be residents of a Northwest state and be pursuing post-secondary education in the coming year.

8. 2023 Empowering Communities to Deliver and Sustain Evidence-Based Chronic Disease Self-Management Education Programs

Details: This funding opportunity is designed for applicants to propose how they will develop capacity for, deliver, and sustain evidence-based self-management education and support programs among older adults and adults with disabilities. There is up to $600,000 available per award.

9. HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Overdose Response Program

Details: The Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) is an initiative aimed at reducing the morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder (SUD). This funding opportunity will support immediate responses to the opioid crisis in rural areas. Over the course of a one-year period recipients will address immediate needs in rural areas through improving access to, capacity for, and sustainability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services for SUD. There is up to $300,000 available per award.

10. HRSA 2023 Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Training Program

Details: The purpose of this program is to increase access to evaluation and services for children with a wide range of developmental and behavioral concerns, including autism. Through this program, fellowship programs will provide post-graduate training (including fellowships), continuing education to practicing providers, and technical assistance to community agencies in this field. HRSA estimates approximately $4,287,000 to be available annually to fund up to 15 recipients.

11. Working Connections Child Care

Details: Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) helps eligible families pay for childcare. When a family qualifies for subsidy benefits and chooses a provider, the state pays a portion of the cost of childcare. Parents may be responsible for a copayment to their provider each month. Families experiencing homelessness may be approved for up to 12 months to help resolve issues surrounding homelessness.

12. US Affordable Connectivity Program

Details: The Affordable Connectivity Program is a US Government program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount to help low-income households pay for internet service and connected devices like a laptop or tablet.

13. Emergency and Unforeseen Funds

Details: 4Culture's Emergency and Unforeseen grants meet a wide variety of unexpected facility needs for cultural organizations, and their funds are available for actual costs incurred to repair or renovate cultural spaces.

14. Open 4Culture Funds

Details: Through this grant -- which has no deadline -- 4Culture awards amounts up to $1,500 to cultural doers serving underserved populations across the county. Artists and arts groups operating outside of Seattle and those working in Heritage and Preservation anywhere in King County may apply.

15. King County Child Care Financial Assistance Program

Details: King County has allocated $7 million of its federal ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding to support King County families with the cost of their child care. Eligible families may receive financial assistance to pay for their child care at eligible providers.
