Environmental Education Programs Learn How to be Rainwise!Fall is here and salmon are returning to our rivers and streams! Join a webinar, workshop, or celebration event to learn more about rain gardens and cisterns and how they help control polluted stormwater runoff that leads to our rivers. Talk to an array of experts on rain gardens, sustainability and yard design, and meet RainWise contractors! Join Us! Sign up for Water Education Field Trips for FallKing County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) offers STEM-focused wastewater and stormwater programs to schools in King and Snohomish Counties. Programs are offered to 4th-12th graders and include hands-on modeling, outdoor field experiences, and extension activities. Sign up today! Volunteer at a Local ParkTogether with our partners, we lead an average of 10,000 volunteers a year performing restoration, park improvement and building and maintaining trails. We weave environmental education into every event, to make for a rewarding and productive day in the park. Join Us! Duwamish Alive and Orca Recovery DayJoin King County Parks on Saturday, October 15th at Cecil Moses Memorial Park along the Duwamish River in Tukwila as we learn about the river, celebrate salmon and orca recovery work, and help create better habitat by caring for our restoration site. Become a Green SchoolJThe Green Schools Program involves K-12 students and staff in education and action for sustainability. Student teams, schools, and districts receive hands-on help, tools, and recognition in becoming a Green School. Public and private K - 12 schools and school districts in King County, outside the City of Seattle, are eligible to participate.
