Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It's getting hot out there!
Over the next week, we are going to see high temperatures across King County. This means that we all need to be looking out for signs of heat exhaustion and checking in on our more vulnerable neighbors and friends.
As temperatures rise, I want to make sure you all have some important information:
-
Stay cool at a cooling center near you. There are locations available across District 9, including Bellevue, Newcastle, Issaquah, Renton, Covington, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, and Enumclaw. See the list at the bottom of this email for some District 9 locations.
- Learn about how to prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke and what to do if you or someone else shows signs of heat-related illnesses. Drinking plenty of water, staying out of the sun, and limiting physical activity are key.
- Find more hot weather safety tips from King County here: First King County heat wave of 2022.
Please stay safeāand try to stay cool!
All my best,
Reagan Dunn Councilmember, District 9 King County Council
