Weekend Service Impacts

• Weekend Construction Reroute for Route 62; transit service to Sandpoint will be rerouted off a portion of Dexter Avenue N between John St and Thomas St on Saturday, July 9 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
• Weekend Construction Reroute for Route 62; transit service to Sandpoint will be rerouted off a portion of NE 65th St between 50th Avenue NE and Sand Point Way NE from Saturday, July 9 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, July 10 at 7 p.m.;
• Weekend Construction Reroute for Route 75; transit service to Northgate will be rerouted off a portion of Sand Point Way NE between NE 65th St and NE 70th St from Saturday, July 9 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, July 10 at 7 p.m.;
• Temporary Construction Reroute for Route 181; transit service will be rerouted in both directions off of 3rd St SW from Friday, July 8 at 9 p.m. to Monday, July 11 at 5 a.m.;
• Weekend Construction Reroute for Routes 255, 271, ST 542, and ST 545; transit service will be rerouted in both directions off the SR 520 bridge from Friday, July 8 at 10 p.m. to Monday, July 11 at 5 a.m.;
• Weekend Construction Impact for Routes 7 and 9; transit service may experience delays as SDOT crews complete work on Rainier Ave S between S Edmonds St and S Walden St north & south-bound from Friday, July 8 to Sunday, July 10 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.;

Service Reminders

• Get out into nature this weekend and take Trailhead Direct service to Mt. Si, Little Si and Mt. Tenriffe;
• Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays games are scheduled to begin on Friday, July 8 at 7:10 p.m., Saturday, July 9 at 7:10 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 at 1:10 p.m. Expect delays in the SODO area;

• West Seattle Water Taxi and #773 and #775 shuttles are operating on the summer schedule, offering midday crossings 7 days a week, plus late options Fridays and Saturdays; 

• We recommend customers arrive at their bus stop a few minutes before the scheduled departure time of their trip;
• Remember, it's free and easy to sign up for email or text alerts about King County Metro service. Alerts can be tailored to your favorite route(s).

Ride the Water Taxi to the Vashon Strawberry Festival Next Weekend

Vashon is getting ready to become the center of the strawberry universe, and the King County Water Taxi is here to help you enjoy it!

Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, the Water Taxi will make hourly trips from our Pier 50 terminal in downtown Seattle to Vashon, with the last Water Taxi leaving for Vashon at 6 p.m. The return trips to Pier 50 will run every hour on the half hour beginning at 9:30 a.m.  and concluding with the 6:30 p.m. sailing to Seattle.

When you get off the Water Taxi, hop on the King County Metro Route 118 to get to the festival. Additional bus trips will be added July 16 to supplement the regular Saturday schedule.  Route 118 will be rerouted in the Vashon Town Center due to street closures – refer to Metro’s Service Advisories webpage for details.
