In order to better align with demand and transition to long-term testing solutions, Public Health – Seattle & King County will end its operations of our Tukwila, Federal Way and Auburn COVID-19 testing sites. The last day of King County operations for the Federal Way and Tukwila testing sites will be Friday, May 27, and the last day for the Auburn site will be Wednesday, June 1.
Community partnerships for food security, Public Health Insider
Since the pandemic, the level of food insecurity among Washington state residents has dramatically increased from 10 percent before the COVID-19 pandemic to 27 percent today, according to the latest University of Washington and Washington State University research on food insecurity and food assistance in the state. In March of this year alone, over 109,000 households received Basic Food assistance in King County. Unfortunately, in communities of color, food insecurity levels are higher, and the pandemic has made things worse.
New COVID-19 Test to Treat program
While vaccination continues to provide the best protection against COVID-19, an oral anti-viral treatment can help people who are at high risk from getting really sick.
Test to Treat is a new federal program that can help people quickly access free COVID-19 treatment that can help prevent severe illness and hospitalization when taken within five days after symptom onset.
