Grant Opportunities Available Now - Apply for Funding Today!

We have several grant opportunities that are available now and wanted to share them with you. Investing in our local non-profit organizations and supporting innovative ideas through funding is critical to help ensure that each of our communities are able to thrive, now and into the future!
I want to highlight two categories of grant opportunities, those that are available to those in our 3rd District, and other opportunities that are available to those in the county and beyond. Take a look and please share this information with anyone that you think could make use of these funding opportunities!
Council Grants
Check out the grant opportunities below for social service organizations, veterans and armed service organizations, and housing organizations! If you know of a city or non-profit in District 3 that would be interested in applying for one of these grants, please download the application here, fill it out, and send it to our Communications and Community Engagement Manager at Osman.Salahuddin@kingcounty.gov. We are closing applications on Monday, May 16th at 2PM, so apply soon!
Community Service Grants: Community Service Grants are available to help further community needs. We have a total of $50,000 to award and will likely be issuing multiple smaller awards.
Veterans Service Organization Grants: VSO grants can be awarded to any veterans’ services organization. We have a total of $10,000 to award, with a minimum award of $2,500 each.
Housing Service Grants: Housing Service Grants are available to support local housing stability in the community. We have a total of $55,500 to award, with a minimum award of $5,000 each.

1. Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program
Applications are due Friday, April 29th. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is a King County program that provides $40 worth of vouchers/checks for low income seniors (60+) to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets. If you are selected, you will receive your vouchers/ checks by mail in July 2022.

2. Expanded Behavioral Health Services in Rural King County
Applications are due Tuesday, May 3rd at 2:30PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: This funding from the King County Department of Community and Human Services aims to increase access and utilization of Behavioral Health Services in rural communities, including in unincorporated King County. There is a total of $1.3 million to be allocated.

3. Expanded Youth Suicide Prevention and Peer Behavioral Health Services in Rural King County

Details: This funding from the King County Department of Community and Human Services aims to increase access and utilization of Youth Suicide Prevention and/or Peer Behavioral Health Services in rural communities, including in unincorporated King County. There is a total of $600K to be allocated.

4. Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline RFP

Details: Best Starts’ Stopping the School to Prison Pipeline strategy is seeking to partner with organizations to create opportunities and provide resources that help dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline for young people who face systemic and institutional racism. There is approximately $8.6 million to be allocated.

5. Youth Development RFP

Details: Best Starts is seeking to partner with organizations who support young people through programs that develop youth leadership and engagement opportunities, mentoring, positive identity, and/or healthy and safe relationships. There is approximately $12 million to be allocated.

6. 2022 Youth Sports & Outdoor Recreation Relief Fund
Applications are due Friday, May 20th at 5PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County Parks (KCP) has partnered with the King County Play Equity Coalition to distribute federal Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery (CLFR) funding to nonprofit organizations providing programs and facilities that support youth access to physical activity. A one-time investment of $4 million will be allocated.

7. Re+ Circular Economy Grant Program
Applications are due Friday, May 20th at 5PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: King County Solid Waste Division is making $1.8 million in funding available for local recycling, reuse and waste reduction projects through its Re+ Circular Economy Grant Program. Proposers are eligible for $20,000 to $300,000 per project.

8. Positive Family Connections RFP
Applications are due Tuesday, May 24th at 2PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: Best Starts is seeking to partner with King County organizations to help strengthen and build positive relationships between young people ages 5 to 24 and their parents/caregivers through culturally relevant support! There is approximately $2.76 million to be allocated.

9. Flood Reduction Grants Program
Applications are due Thursday, May 26th. Apply now via this document.
Details: The King County Flood Control District is now accepting applications for its Flood Reduction Grants Program targeting medium and small local flood reduction projects in King County. The total amount available for Flood Reduction Grants for 2022 is $12 million.

10. Pedestrian & Bicycle Program Call for Projects
Applications are due Wednesday, May 30th at 11:59PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: The Pedestrian and Bicycle program objective is to improve the transportation system to enhance safety and mobility for people who choose to walk or bike. All public agencies in Washington state can apply, and $56.7 million is available to be allocated.

11. Regional Parks and Trails Public Art Plan
Applications are due Tuesday, May 31st at 4PM. Apply now at this link.
Details: An artist, curator, or artist team will work with 4Culture and King County Parks to develop an art plan for King County Parks’ extensive network of parks, trails, and open spaces in collaboration with the unique communities they connect to throughout King County, WA. There will be a total of $75,000 for the project.
