Dear Friends and Neighbors,
This evening at 6:30 p.m. The Seattle Times is hosting a free, one hour online event featuring local author and nurse practitioner Josephine Ensign. Ensign will look back at the history of homelessness in Seattle and how we got to where we are today, based on findings in her book, "Skid Road: On the Frontier of Health and Homelessness in an American City.” Her book examines Seattle’s history of homelessness over the past 160 years.
For details and to submit questions in advance, see this page. You can register for the event here.
According to The Seattle Times, this evening’s discussion will “…explore how Seattle’s leaders have answered essential questions throughout our history — like Whose responsibility is it to take care of our poorest? And how do we pay for it?”
As always, I would like to hear from you. You can call me at 206-477-1004 or you can reach me by email at jeanne.kohl-welles@kingcounty.gov.
