Weekend Service Impacts

Check your trip and allow more time!
Metro is running at about 90% of our service. We want to make sure you know if your trip is cancelled. Before you go, use our Next Departures tool or text your bus stop number to 62550 to check the status of your trip.
Temporary Construction Reroute for route ST 550; transit service will be rerouted in both directions off of Bellevue Way NE & NE 4th St. on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 8:00 a.m. to Sunday, Jan. 30 8:00 a.m.;

Seattle Center Monorail will operate extended hours on Friday, Jan. 28, 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 29, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Monorail will depart approximately every 10 minutes;
We recommend customers arrive at their bus stop a few minutes before the scheduled departure time of their trip;

King County Metro continues minor service reductions

While more than 90% of Metro’s scheduled bus service is on the road, we are extending our temporary reduced service schedule and canceling some bus trips.

Before traveling, please allow for additional travel time and use Metro’s real-time travel tools to confirm whether your trip is operating or canceled.

Earlier this month, Metro first announced a temporary service reduction due to recovery and workforce availability challenges. While some individual trips will continue to be canceled, nearly all of Metro’s 160 bus routes will operate on weekdays and weekends. The exceptions during this recovery period are that routes 162, 177, 304, 320, and 330 will not operate on weekdays, and route 125 will not operate on Saturdays. Check out the Metro Matters blog for transit alternatives for routes that have been temporarily suspended.

Metro is closely monitoring the situation and will reassess whether it is able to restore canceled bus trips in the coming weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience as our workforce stabilizes.

The operators selected demonstrate safe driving skills, show courteous and helpful attitudes toward customers, and pay conscientious attention to attendance, appearance, and discipline.

South King County RapidRide I Line online open house

King County Metro is working to connect Renton, Kent, Auburn and surrounding areas with frequent and reliable bus service to meet your mobility needs – and we want to hear from you.

Visit the RapidRide I Line’s Online Open House between Jan. 28 and Feb. 20 to help shape our design plans and to learn more –- from service updates and station features to improvement projects.

The I Line will upgrade the current Route 160 between Auburn Station and Renton. Metro currently operates six RapidRide lines across the county that are more reliable and up to 20 percent faster than traditional bus service.

We want to hear from the community to help shape the route as we begin to finalize the design. Here are some ways you can get involved:

Metro shares progress on Strategic Plan with new online dashboard

Available in 10 languages, Metro’s Strategic Plan dashboard provides an easy way for the public to understand progress in achieving the policy goals and vision shaped and co-created with the community. Data visualizations demonstrate progress toward each of the 10 policy goals, as well as Metro Connects, Metro’s long-range plan.

Each goal – Access, Engagement, Innovation, Investments, Safety, Service Quality, Stewardship, Sustainability, Transit Oriented Communities and Workforce – has three to four associated measures.

The metrics and data currently available in the dashboard are from 2020 and 2021, and will be periodically updated to reflect the latest information available. Keeping with Metro’s commitment to continuous improvement, we expect our metrics might change as our approach to monitoring progress and tracking outcomes evolve.
