House Bill 1184 – 1184-S.SL.pdf (wa.gov) On-Site Non-Potable Water Systems—Risk Based Water Quality Standards is a legislated approach to the reuse of nonpotable water sources like grey water, storm water, black water, roof runoff (rainwater) and ground water. Graywater is captured, then reintroduced back into a structure after passing through a treatment train for use at nonpotable water fixtures.
These water quality standards are currently being created by Washington State Department of Health and will standardized rules for the entire State of Washington which in part is based on the “Final Report”. These rules are closely aligned with San Francisco’s Department of Public Health Director’s Rule June 2020 Director's Rules and Regulations for the Operation of Alternate Water Source Systems.
