Weekend Kickoff
Lower West Seattle Bridge to close briefly 3 times on Sunday, Jan. 9
Riders should prepare for expected travel delays on RapidRide C Line and routes 21, 50, and 120 on Sunday Jan. 9 due to brief closures of the lower West Seattle Bridge. These closures are for scheduled measurements of the bridge by the City of Seattle.
Due to the brief nature of the scheduled bridge closures, there will be no needed reroutes of buses.
The scheduled closure times are during lulls in traffic around 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m.
The Seattle Department of Transportation has announced the planned dates for these Sunday lower bridge closures: Dec. 19, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30.

A bus full of cheer for local kids and their families!
At King County Metro, we take joy in supporting our community. And that really showed at the holidays, when our teams again rocked our annual Toys for Tots campaign.
Metro employees raised more than $5,000 and collected enough toys to pack a bus. The primary mission of Toys for Tots is to provide economically disadvantaged children at Christmas with gifts.
Countless employees at Metro contributed to the success of this year’s campaign, but special thanks go out to organizers David Freeman (System Impact Construction Coordinator), Don Okazaki (contracted services) and Jeff Stambaugh (vehicle maintenance). What a team!

King County partners with statewide anti-human trafficking campaign
In observance of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, cities, counties, transit authorities, airports, and seaports across Washington and beyond are combining forces to prevent human trafficking with the Not Alone campaign, our first-ever statewide initiative to encourage victims of human trafficking to seek help.
Not Alone was conceived and launched in Washington state by Rebekah Covington, a survivor of human trafficking and Corporate Relations Manager at BEST (Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking), to raise awareness about human trafficking and help victims and survivors self-identify and get connected with services by calling the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888 or texting 233733 (BEFREE).

Remember, “It’s a great day to ride Metro” to get to events and activities where there is often traffic congestion and limited parking.
