Dunn awards Carmen Goers, community leader and advocate, with Martin Luther King Medal of Distinguished Service
This week, I was very pleased to award Carmen Goers with the Martin Luther King Medal of Distinguished Service. Carmen's many acts of service include mentoring girls in the foster care system, working on behalf of incarcerated women, coaching youth sports, and much more. She has gone above and beyond in answering the question asked by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “What are you doing for others?” and is incredibly deserving of this honor.
Congratulations, Carmen!

Check out this video featuring King County's newest landmark, the Mt. Peak Fire Lookout!
I am incredibly honored and proud to be a small part of this community-driven project to rebuild the tower. The Mt. Peak Fire Lookout stands as a reminder of our shared heritage and will serve as a beautiful destination for residents and visitors to our region for generations to come.
Dunn aims to mandate public comment, 30-day notice before King County can re-purpose hotel into homeless shelter

This public notification and comment period is what my legislation would require.

Dunn’s home occupation code review approved by the Council
This week, legislation I sponsored asking for a review and update of home occupation regulations in King County was approved by a unanimous vote of the King County Council.
King County has seen a massive shift toward remote work during the pandemic, so taking the time to review our home occupation code to make sure it’s relevant to current working situations is both timely and necessary. I’m grateful to my colleagues on the Council for supporting this work.
