Transit Alert – Transit service will be affected by the full closure of the SR 520 Bridge and Montlake ramps Fri PM-Mon AM
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 10/22/2021 02:06 PM PDTFrom Friday, October 22, at 8:00 PM, through Monday, October 25 at 5:00 AM, at all times, Metro routes 255 and 271, and Sound Transit Express routes 542, will be affected by the full closures of the SR 520 bridge and all Montlake area ramps during the demolition of the former Montlake overpass.
During this time, Route 255, and ST Express route 542 will be rerouted via I-5, I-90 and I-405, and will miss their usual stops along the SR 520 corridor west of I-405. Additionally, ST 542 will not serve the UW Station or UW Medical Center. Route 255 will continue to serve these Montlake locations.
Route 271 will travel instead via I-5, I-90 and I-405 to Bellevue before continuing regular routing to Eastgate and the Issaquah Transit Center. Stops in the Montlake area and the regular stops in the Medina area, west of the 100th Av NE will be not be served.
There is no extra or alternate service in Medina for Route 271 riders during this closure. Ride regularly scheduled service to or from designated bus stops or at the Bellevue Transit Center.
