Earlier this week King County Elections mailed November’s general election ballots to nearly 1.4 million registered voters! If your ballot doesn't arrive by October 18, give King County Elections a call at 206.296.VOTE (8683).
Voters will get to weigh-in on 15 ballot measures and 332 offices up for election across different parts of King County. Remember you can mail your ballot in at no cost (just make sure it’s postmarked by Election Day) or, better yet, use one of the 74 ballot drop boxes open across King County. Health through Housing update
Thanks to everyone who has provided input on the former Silver Cloud Inn Health through Housing site in Redmond. In July, King County announced the purchase of the former inn using Health through Housing initiative funding to provide permanent supportive housing for people experiencing chronic or long-term homelessness. Here is a brief update on the process.
Now, King County is collaborating with the City of Redmond on the request for bids to select an agency to operate the facility. I look forward to the selection of a provider who has experience effectively running permanent supportive housing and is committed to working with the community to make this facility a success.
Also, the City of Redmond is asking for community members to fill out a survey on the outcomes that this program should achieve. The responses will inform the occupancy agreement between the City and County that will define how the facility will be run. The survey is open until October 31:
