 Weekend Service Impacts

  • Weekend construction reroute for routes 1, 2, 4, 13, 24, 33, Rapid Ride D Line; northbound transit service will be rerouted off 1st Ave N between Denny Way and Harrison St;
  • Ongoing construction reroute for Route 45; transit service will be rerouted until further notice in both directions off a portion of NE 65th St and 15th Ave NE;
  • Weekend construction reroute for Route 62; transit service will be rerouted off NE Princeton Way NE and NE 65th St between 49th Ave NE and Sand Point Way NE;  
  • Ongoing construction reroute for Route 79; transit service will be rerouted until further notice in both directions off a portion of NE 65th St and 15th Ave NE;
  • Weekend construction reroute for ST Express routes 542 & 545; westbound transit service will be rerouted and will not serve the stop on the SR 520 on-ramps just south of NE 40th St;
  • Weekend event reroute for Metro routes 208, 271, & ST Express Route 554; transit service will be rerouted on Saturday & Sunday for this event. There is no Metro operated Route 271 shuttle this year. Routes 208 and 271 will be serving all stops on NW Gilman Blvd. For Salmon Days Event & Private Shuttle information visit http://salmondays.org/.

October 2 Fall Service Change

Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 2, King County Metro will launch updated bus connections to three new Sound Transit Link light rail stations, Northgate, Roosevelt, and U District in Seattle, along with updates to Metro routes (117 of 194 bus routes will be impacted) throughout King county.

  • Call Metro at 206-553-3000 – our team of Customer Information Specialist can help find the right route for you. Specialists are available 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, interpreters are available.
    • Metro’s Customer Information Office will be open special hours this weekend to help riders with questions about the service change and trip planning. You can speak to a specialist this Saturday (Oct. 2) and Sunday (Oct. 3) from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at 206-553-3000.

King County Metro is continuing our work on the Safety, Security, and Fare Enforcement (SaFE) Reform Initiative to reimagine transit safety and security policies and practices.

By October 3, please go to the survey to read the policies and provide your comments. The survey is available English, Amharic, Arabic, Chinese (traditional), Dari, French, Korean, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.


RapidRide G Line begins construction

Opening in 2024, the RapidRide G Line will create a frequent and reliable public transportation line between 1st Ave and Martin Luther King Jr Way. The route will serve dense neighborhoods in downtown Seattle, First Hill, Capitol Hill, the Central District, and Madison Valley. It will connect people to hospitals, schools and universities, and businesses as well as to dozens of bus routes, the First Hill Streetcar, the West Seattle and Vashon Water Taxi at Pier 50, and ferry service at the Colman Dock Ferry Terminal.

King County Executive Dow Constantine, Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay and Metro's General Manager Terry White, welcomed Federal Transit Administration Administrator Nuria Fernandez to Seattle on Thursday, September 30, as they joined other local leaders and congressional delegates at a groundbreaking event to celebrate the start of construction on the Madison – RapidRide G Line.
