Weekly King County COVID-19 update
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 09/23/2021 06:33 PM PDTBeginning October 25, you have to confirm your vaccination as a requirement for many activities in King County
Beginning October 25, people ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result to enter certain indoor and outdoor events and establishments in King County.
An analysis by the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) conducted for King County found that the vaccine verification policy at restaurants, bars, and gyms/fitness centers alone could prevent between 17,900 and 75,900 infections, 421 and 1,760 hospitalizations and 63 and 257 deaths locally over the six months of the order. We should not forget that this is only one of the measures to prevent transmission.
Vaccination, combined with wearing masks, social distancing, washing hands frequently, and improving ventilation and filtration, are essential steps to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and enhance general health and well-being.

The vaccine is available FREE to everyone age 12 and up, regardless of income, insurance, citizenship, or immigration status. At this time, booster doses of the vaccine are not being administered. A third dose of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is only for people with significantly compromised immune systems.
Leading question of the week: I lost my CDC vaccination card. How do I get a new one?
This information is covered in Section 4, Question #14 on the Vaccine FAQ page linked above as follows:
- Look up your vaccination from WA state's "My Immunization Registry" (MyIR). If you have registered, log in to MyIR to look up your vaccination record, and then print or take a screenshot or photo of the information. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for MyIR any time.
- Use the mobile version of WA state's immunization registry, MyIRmobile to get a vaccination certificate. MyIRmobile matches records based on name, birthday, phone, and email. If any of these fields are missing or incorrect you will be unable to match your record. For matching issues, you can use the chat feature in MyIR Mobile or call 833-VAX-HELP.
- If you received your vaccine at your health care provider, the provider's office should be able to give you a copy of your record.
- You may go back to the site you were vaccinated and ask a clinic supervisor for a new card. They may be able to look you up and create a new card.

For King County health care providers: Prioritization of monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID-19
Due to a very limited supply of monoclonal antibody (mAb) therapy, Public Health issued a Health Advisory on Sep. 21 asking that healthcare providers in King County to:
- Limit mAb use to those ages 70 or over OR who are moderately-to-severely immunosuppressed (among fully vaccinated COVID cases)
- Prioritize administration to certain at-risk groups (among partially or unvaccinated COVID cases)
- Prioritize treatment of COVID-19 over post-exposure prophylaxis of SARS-CoV-2 infection
