Donation Drive at Kent City Hall to Help Afghan Refugees
Councilmember Reagan Dunn and Kent Mayor Dana Ralph donate a welcome kit at Kent City Hall
Today Mayor Dana Ralph and I delivered a "welcome kit" for Afghan refugees to Kent City Hall. As hundreds of Afghan refugees arrive in Washington State, many will be placed in King County with nothing but the clothes on their backs. These welcome kits are one small way our community can open our arms to our Afghan allies by providing the basic household essentials they will need as they settle into their new home.
If you'd like to contribute to the donation drive, Kent City Hall is accepting donations through 5 PM tomorrow, Friday, August 27th. Find more information here.
Important Movie Night Updates!
Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the outdoor movie night at Petrovitsky Park on August 27th is CANCELED.
Saturday's movie at Ravensdale Park is still happening, but is now DRIVE-IN ONLY. Pack your family in the car, drive to the ballfield parking lot, and enjoy a showing of the Disney/Pixar film Cars!
Seating begins at 7 PM & the movie starts at 8:20 PM. Dogs are allowed if they have responsible owners. Please pick up after your dog & dispose of pet waste properly. All guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks unless in a vehicle or actively eating/drinking.
