Transit Alert Update – The Route 271 and ST 542 reroute associated with the Montlake Bridge closure will change beginning Thursday, 8/19
King County, Washington sent this bulletin at 08/18/2021 03:32 PM PDTBeginning Thursday, August 19, and continuing through Sunday, September 5, the Metro Route 271 and Sound Transit Express Route 542 reroute associated with the long-term construction closure of the Montlake Bridge will change.
During this time, the reroute will not directly serve the UW Medical Center or UW Link light rail Station. Riders wanting to get to or from this area will need to transfer to alternate service. See map below.
Route 271 or ST 542 riders heading west toward the University of Washington, exit at stop 9575 located on eastbound NE Campus Parkway just west of University Way NE. Transfer to Metro routes 43, 44, 45, 65, 73, 255 or 373 at stop 10917, located about one block away on southbound 15th Av NE just south of NE 40th St.
Heading toward their eastside destinations from the Montlake area, Route 271 and ST 542 riders may board Metro routes 44, 45, 73, 255 or 373 at stop 29405, located on westbound NE Pacific St just west of Montlake Blvd NE – Bay 2. Exit at stop 29440 located on northbound 15th Av NE just south of NE Campus Parkway and transfer to Route 271 and St 542 at this same stop.
Expect possible significant service delays during this long-term construction and reroute.
