Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

If you missed my recent Conference on Addiction Disorders, or were able to attend but want to re-watch it, it is now available to stream online! During the Conference on Addiction Disorders, we heard the reoccurring message that the stigmatization of  substance use disorder is a known barrier to recovery. With that in mind, this week my colleague Councilmember Kohl-Welles and I introduced legislation that would help spread awareness that addiction is a physical disease that is treatable like other medical conditions. It is my hope that by de-stigmatizing addiction, it will be easier for people who are struggling to seek help. I will keep you updated on how this legislation progresses.

Vaccination Appointments Available

As of today, 42% of King County residents are fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, thousands of vaccination appointments are available at sites across the County.

King County residents can get vaccinated at any high-volume vaccination site, including in Kent, Auburn, Seattle, Renton, Redmond, and Shoreline. Visit King County’s vaccine webpage or call the King County COVID-19 Call Center 206-477-3977 for an appointment.

In addition, the vaccination sites in Auburn and Kent are now offering up to a thousand walk-in vaccinations per day, with no appointment needed. These slots will be available Monday - Saturday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Auburn Outlet Mall (1101 Supermall Way, Suite 1333, Auburn, WA 98001) and Kent Accesso ShoWare (625 W James St., Kent, WA 98032).

Dunn Helps Launch New Location of Cascadia Pizza Co.

A few months ago, the owners of Cascadia Pizza Co. reached out to me for help resolving some permitting issues that were keeping their business from opening. Last week, I was proud to stand beside them on opening day of their new location in Maple Valley. Especially as many local businesses continue to struggle during the pandemic, I was pleased to provide this help and celebrate their success. I wish Cascadia Pizza Co. the best of luck and welcome them to our community!
