Funding Opportunity
King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is offering $2.2 million in funding for community-driven projects through its WaterWorks Grant Program, for projects that will help protect water quality, control pollution, and build healthy communities in King County. WaterWorks is now accepting letters of intent, the first step in the application process, through February 17, 2021. Non-profits, tribes, cities, schools, and special purpose districts are all eligible to apply, and partnerships are encouraged.

The Office of Equity and Social Justice (OESJ) seeks an Executive Assistant to support the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer and the OESJ team in the planning and execution of the office’s vision, goals, and mission. OESJ serves King County (government and communities) in the advancement of pro-equity anti-racist approaches and practices. The Executive Assistant serves as a critical and highly relied upon member of OESJ providing leadership in critical administrative services and business functions. $77,126.40 - $97,780.80 Annually. Environmental Intern
The Solid Waste Division of the Department of Natural Resources and Parks is seeking to fill two internship positions in their Recycling and Environmental Services Section. The Solid Waste Division plans, develops, and implements a variety of programs that target residents, businesses, local governments, and schools with programs including waste reduction, recycling and moderate risk wastes. Interns will assist the waste prevention, recycling, and hazardous waste staff with program planning and implementation, communications, research, and other duties as assigned. Examples of past intern projects include: Developing replicable Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) efforts for a green building, developing social media posts and communications strategies, and creating an “equity in hiring” checklist. Interns will have the opportunity to explore other areas of King County government beyond Solid Waste through informational interviews and networking opportunities. $17.77 - $22.53 Hourly. Language Services & Community Engagement Program Supervisor
The Department of Elections seeks a Supervisor to lead the Language Services and Community Engagement Program. The position will administer Voter Education Fund outreach activities and programs as well as coordinate activities between the Department and community-based organizations, community leaders, and other public sector partners. This position also supervises the team responsible for translating election materials, providing language-based assistance to new and existing voters in King County, and supporting the Department’s community engagement work. $78,992.16 - $100,127.46 Annually. Social Services Professional - Youth and Young Adults
The Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) seeks a Social Service Professional to recruit, assess, provide job readiness training, job search assistance, job placement, and employment retention and support services to youth/young adults. Youth/young adults will experience some barriers to success including lack of work experience, homelessness/unstable housing, low-basic skills, and justice involvement. Young adults will be enrolled into a comprehensive education and employment program offered through the Children, Youth and Young Adult Division’s Employment and Education Resources program and provided with services that lead to success in secondary school completion, employment and post-secondary education.
