Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I’m excited to share that King County, acting in partnership with the City of Kent, is working on opening a mass vaccination site at the ShoWare Center in Kent. Though the plans for the ShoWare vaccination site are still in the works, I wanted to keep you in the loop regarding this development. You can read more about the potential ShoWare site here.

The details of the agreement between the County, the City, and the ShoWare Center are still being negotiated, but this is important progress toward ramping up vaccine distribution in King County. I am glad to see public and private partners working together on this critically important effort. While we continue to work to increase King County’s allocation of the vaccines from the State, and ultimately the Federal Government, this is a good step towards preparing to get vaccines out as soon as they become available.

I hope to be able to share additional details on this soon. In the meantime, you can visit my COVID-19 Information and Resources page for more information on vaccinations in King County.

Best regards,
