We would like to invite you to participate in a Countywide Nonprofit Wage & Benefits Survey and an Employee Engagement Survey that will help build a stronger nonprofit community in King County. Funded through the VSHSL and administered by our partner 501 Commons, the surveys will produce an informational resource to help the nonprofit community better understand the array of influences – including wages – that contribute to successful employee recruitment, retention and satisfaction in the nonprofit sector.
The Wage and Benefits Survey opens on Tuesday, March 2, and will close on May 2.
The Employee Engagement Survey opens on Tuesday, April 6, and will close on June 6.
We will share the survey links with you when the surveys have launched.
VSHSL-funded organizations, and any of your nonprofit subcontractors funded by VSHSL, are required to complete the Wage & Benefits Survey and the Employee Engagement Survey.

Every month, through The Hub newsletter, we share funding opportunities, feature VSHSL partners, highlight community resources and provide critical information for our VSHSL-funded partners. To make sure we are sharing information that is valuable to you, please take a few minutes to complete an anonymous newsletter feedback survey. The survey will take less than five minutes to complete and is open until February 26, 2021. We look forward to receiving your feedback. We are happy to have you as part of our VSHSL community.

Historically King County’s investments for survivors of gender-based violence have focused on crisis and short- to medium-term response for survivors. While these supports are an essential part of the landscape in addressing gender-based violence, they do not address the root causes of violence nor meaningfully help us to build strategies to change the conditions that lead to violence and abuse.
A new VSHSL funding opportunity is available to fund a network of domestic and sexual violence programs to develop and implement in-depth, multi-level, coordinated prevention and community engagement strategies tailored to geographically and culturally diverse communities across King County.

Congratulations to Child Care Resources (CCR), our newly awarded partner under the Student Veteran Child Care Pilot strategy!
CCR will be implementing a child care subsidy program to support student veterans’ ability to remain in school and graduate from their post-secondary educational, certification, or vocational program. CCR will partner closely with the King County Veterans Program and Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs VetCorps program to share referrals to the program. An innovation within this child care pilot is that it will allow student veterans to pay for friend and family care – the type of support that is often most needed among non-traditional students attending school on a flexible schedule.
