Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

With the heavy rain and high winds we experienced last night, we are seeing power outages and road closures across King County. Over 315,000 households are without power as of this morning, with most outages caused by fallen trees on power lines. The Green River and White River have reached Flood Phase 2, indicating minor flooding in some areas. Standing water and downed trees have also closed multiple roadways, including portions of SE Petrovitsky Road near Maple Valley.

Below are some resources to help you stay safe and up-to-date with the most current conditions.

Power Outages:

  • To check power outages and restoration times, visit the Puget Sound Energy outage map
  • To report an outage, Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773.
  • If you see a downed power line, stay away and do not touch it as it might be energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report it.

Road Conditions:

  • For current road closures, visit the King County My Commute website.
  • If you see a downed tree or water over the road, please call the 24/7 Road Helpline at 206-477-8100 to report it.

Flooding:

As always, in the case of an emergency, call 911. I hope these resources will help keep you informed and safe until power is restored and roads are cleared.

Sincerely,
