Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

With the news that Governor Inslee is extending the current COVID-19 statewide restrictions through January 4th, I am more committed than ever to working on pandemic relief and recovery efforts to aid our communities. I am encouraged by the significant progress being made on vaccine development and have included an update on the County's plan for vaccine distribution below.

As the King County Council’s legislative session comes to a close, all eyes are on Congress to approve another COVID relief package. For the last several months, I’ve been working hard to push federal dollars out into our communities to provide emergency aid to individuals and businesses most in need. I’ve also championed legislation to offer property tax relief, create my Project CARE volunteer program, and launch a task force that invites local business leaders to help plan for economic recovery. I will continue to build on this work when the Council is back in session in early January.

This holiday season, I encourage us all to keep looking after each other. If you are able, please consider ways you can support your community by shopping locally, donating to nonprofits, and extending kindness to your neighbors.

Thank you, and please continue to be safe.
