COVID-19 Testing Nurse Supervisor (Downtown Public Health Center Team)
This Public Health Services Supervisor position is a member of the Public Health – Seattle & King County Downtown Public Health Center COVID-19 Testing Team which is responsible for supervising a COVID -19 Team, this Nurse Supervisor (PHSS) position provides support, training and guidance to a COVID-19 testing team that is COVID-19 testing people who are at high risk for severe illness from the disease and are not able to access testing at a hospital or clinic.
The position is responsible for participating in the health department’s COVID-19 response. This position is based at the Downtown Public Health Center building backlot in (Belltown) Seattle. The work schedule is scheduled Monday-Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. The position reports to the Area Manager at Downtown Public Health Center of the Community Health Services Division.
Who May Apply: This position is open to all qualified internal and external candidates. To be considered as a Special Duty applicant, you must be a current Career Service, King County employee who has successfully passed probation.
Work Location: This 1.0 fte position will primarily work at the Downtown Public Health Center located at 2124 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA (backlot). This work is performed on-site, this is not a telecommuting position. Only as needed, the position may be deployed to other Public Health Centers and sites throughout King County. This position is not overtime eligible and may work outside of the aforementioned schedule to meet operational needs.

Job Duties:
- Supervise assigned staff including evaluating, counseling and disciplining.
- Oversee the delivery of all health services to clients at assigned to DTN PHC COVID Testing site.
- Identify resources and allocate staff to meet personal health services COVID Testing needs.
- Participate in planning, implementing and evaluating personal health services programs.
- Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement efforts of the COVID Testing site, including the community health planning process.
- Evaluate, implement and monitor quality assurance standards to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Oversee the COVID Testing site planning and coordinating of training and orientation programs to meet staff needs and facilitate staff development.
- Manage the hiring process for assigned staff.
- Participate in budget development process and monitor budget for assigned work unit.
- Participates in multiple meetings as part of the DTN PHC Leadership Team as needed including DTN Safety Committee
- Work collaboratively with the community in developing, evaluating and implementing short- and long-range Seattle/King County Department of Public Health goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned./
Requirements:
An active and unencumbered Washington State License as a Registered Nurse
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Washington State Driver’s License or the ability to travel to work locations
Current CPR-BLS for healthcare providers

Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience working at a PHC COVID Testing Site in a screener, observer and or tester (swabbing) role and previous charge nurse experience.
Knowledge of infection control, occupational and environmental health, employee safety, and hazard mitigation.
Ability to travel between work sites on a regular basis.
Experience in emergency response is helpful, but not required.
Experience with settings that provide services to individuals living homeless is helpful, but not required.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to work productively as part of a team and in fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
