October is Domestic Violence Action Month (DVAM), a month highlighting the need for support of our community members experiencing domestic violence. This year, due to conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic, survivors of domestic violence are likely at an increased risk of abuse and/or decreased access to critical supports. In addition to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the reality of violence in our communities could not be more present for many in King County and beyond.
In honor of DVAM, our Resilient Communities team shared about an important issue impacting survivors of domestic violence: criminalization of domestic violence survivors.
The King County Veterans Program (KCVP) Seattle office will be relocating from Belltown to Northgate in December 2020. A relocation to Northgate helps KCVP expand outreach efforts to diverse communities and creates a new service access point for north-end residents.
