2021-2022 Proposed Biennial Budget

Earlier this week, the 2021-2022 Biennial Budget was transmitted to the King County Council for deliberation.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and recession, King County is facing an extremely challenging biennial budget process, with significant shortfalls in funding across the board, as well as targeted cuts to the King County Sheriff’s Office. As the budget progresses through the Council, I will be fighting against cuts to KCSO deputies and services--and for families across the County who rely on them to uphold public safety.

The final budget is scheduled to be adopted in mid-November and to take effect in January 2021.
