Fairwood Sheriff’s Office Saved from Budget Cuts
Councilmember Dunn visits the Fairwood KCSO substation
As a direct result of the outpouring of support from the Fairwood community, we were successful in preserving the Fairwood substation from being cut from the King County Sheriff’s Office’s budget. The Executive’s proposed biennial budget, transmitted earlier this week, did not include an earlier planned elimination of the substation.
Thank you to Fairwood residents for your partnership! Public safety remains a high priority for me, and I will continue to fight to preserve our law enforcement presence in Fairwood.

Vision House Van Donation
Councilmember Dunn hands over the keys to a Metro van to Vision House ED Melissa Gehrig and Operations Manager James Richey
I recently visited Vision House in the Renton Highlands to deliver a Metro Van that had aged out of Metro's fleet. I'm glad to help deliver this van that will support Vision House as they work to break the cycle of homelessness, serving over 300 families a year and supporting single mothers and single fathers.
While I was there, I also dropped off 500 cloth face masks and toured the facility to learn about Vision House's important work. Thank you to Executive Director Melissa Gehrig and Operations Manager James Richey for the tour!
Note: If you are a non-profit organization in District 9 and want to know more about our van donation program, please contact me at reagan.dunn@kingcounty.gov.
