Revised Restaurant guidance: Phase 2 FAQs

Information under the following questions have been updated:

  • Question #5: Can we use cleanable, laminated menus if they are sanitized between uses?
  • Question #31: If we are following all rules and requirements but have a customer that refuses to comply, what can we as an establishment do?

Extensive revisions to Phase 2 and new Phase 3 guidelines for food establishments in King County

  • In introduction section of page, see new 3rd paragraph stating, "A COVID-19 monitor must be designated at each job site to monitor employee health and enforce the COVID-19 safety plan."

  • Revised days and times available at City of Seattle locations.
  • New testing location added at Rainier Beach High School in South Seattle.

Former Metro drivers take on new role as King County Health Ambassadors to slow the spread of COVID-19, Cultivating Connections blog

King County is launching a new COVID Health Ambassador Program next week to offer community outreach, education and health promotion resources to prevent COVID-19 transmission. The first ambassadors already know King County: they are former METRO bus drivers redeployed to engage and inform neighborhood and community groups on the importance of social distancing, wearing facial coverings, practicing healthy hand hygiene, and observing phase-appropriate business and gathering standards.


Case report update

Public Health is reporting the following case numbers since yesterday:

  • 4,718 people have been tested for a total of 312,168 in King County
  • 167 new cases tested positive for a total of 15,946
  • 8 new hospitalizations for a total of 1,992
  • 0 new deaths for a total of 657
