COVID-19 Is on the Rise in King County

The July 14 Public Health - Seattle & King County COVID-19 Indicators data dashboard update paints a concerning picture of King County’s progress to stop COVID-19. The spread and cases of COVID-19 are on the rise, aggregate testing is below target, but fortunately hospital capacity – for now – remains sufficient. In short, we all have more work to do to beat this pandemic.

To stay healthy and prevent spreading COVID-19, limit close contact with others outside your home, avoid crowded and poorly-ventilated spaces, wear your mask and keep your distance!

Governor Inslee announces pause on reopening extended through July 28 as COVID-19 cases keep rising

Governor Jay Inslee on Tuesday announced that he was extending the pause on phased Safe Start Washington reopening until at least July 28 as statewide cases continued to rise. The pause means no counties can be approved for moving to the next phase of reopening until then, and possibly later if the order is extended. Inslee indicated that if the spread of COVID-19 continues, he and health officials could consider further restrictions. When the pause was announced two weeks ago, Inslee also announced a requirement that businesses in Washington state refuse service to anyone not wearing a cloth mask.
