Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I wanted to bring to your attention a correction that is needed to my enews update I sent out on Friday. In Friday’s update, I stated that there would be an opportunity for public comment at tomorrow’s special meeting of the Council’s Committee of the Whole. This is not correct. We will still be meeting to discuss the Charter Review Commission’s recommendation to make the Sheriff’s position in King County appointed instead of elected, but there unfortunately will not be an opportunity for public input. This meeting will be a briefing and discussion only. However, the item is likely to be voted on the next day (Tuesday) at the regular meeting of the Committee of the Whole. And at this meeting, there will be an opportunity to provide public testimony remotely. You can view tomorrow’s agenda by clicking this link: https://mkcclegisearch.kingcounty.gov/View.ashx?M=A&ID=797164&GUID=FFF289AA-B510-4D12-A140-D619ECC65F3C
You can view Tuesday’s meeting agenda and find information on how to provide remote testimony by clicking this link: https://mkcclegisearch.kingcounty.gov/View.ashx?M=A&ID=796406&GUID=A8E2ECD1-92DA-4FEF-9EE1-BA60ECA530BB
Sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
