Today Gov. Inslee released new COVID-19 recovery data and requirements for individuals and employers
On Friday, Governor Inslee announced that in the coming weeks, the state will slowly start “turning the dial” on several physical distancing restrictions in accordance with changing epidemiological and public health data. In the approach, called “Safe Start,” Washington’s economy and social life will reopen in four phases, with some types of businesses ideally beginning to reopen in mid-May, even as the stay-home order remains until the end of the month.
Today, he released additional details about specific requirements for individuals and employers to consider as Washingtonians begin to reopen our state. The new COVID-19 risk assessment dashboard to aid the state in gauging when and how to best lift restrictions around ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy” in Washington was also released today.
Each phase for reopening will take at least three weeks, an amount of time long enough, the governor said, to let officials see if the approach is working. Consequently, the dates for each phase were not announced because they are based on hitting specific data-driven milestones (e.g., infection declines, testing availability, preparedness for a resurgence, etc.).
