Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

Another federal stimulus package appears to be on its way. Today, the House passed a $484 billion “phase 3.5” coronavirus relief bill, which will provide funding for the small business loan program, more coronavirus testing, and hospitals (primarily those in rural areas). The President has indicated that he intends to sign the bill, so I am optimistic we will see this relief soon. This bill became necessary after the Paycheck Protection Program ran out of money in just two weeks. The PPP fund now has an additional $320 billion to help small business owners maintain payroll and pay their operating expenses.

In the meantime, I’ve included a comprehensive guide below to help connect you, your family, and local businesses with financial help.

I know we are all eager to get back to our normal lives. As coronavirus cases and deaths seem to be on the decline, I wanted to share with you a blog from Public Health that outlines the key indicators that public health officials look for when trying to determine when to start loosening social distancing rules.

I’ll continue to keep you up to date on key developments. In the meantime, stay healthy and safe.

Best regards,
