Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I hope you all have had a restful, peaceful and healthy weekend. For those of you celebrating holidays over the past couple of days, whether Passover or Easter, I hope this has been a time that you have been able to spend with those important to you. Even if that connection is taking place through Skype or on the phone.
This will be an abbreviated weekend COVID-19 update. If something urgent arises before tomorrow’s update, I will be sure to let you know.
The rest of this e-newsletter is meant to provide you with an update on some of the other issues on which I’ve been working as well as on helpful information related to the COVID-19 crisis. As always, I would like to hear from you. Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you have any questions or comments.
All the best,
Latest numbers from Public Health
As of this update, the Washington State Department of Health is reporting 164 additional cases of COVID-19 and 8 more coronavirus related deaths
Keep in mind, that beginning on Monday, Public Health will be providing updates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only rather than on a daily basis. But I will try to get the numbers daily from other sources.
Detailed information about demographics of those who died from COVID-19 are available on the data dashboard.
Also, and again, here is an excellent website that offers real-time COVID-19 data in clear formats, broken down by country and state: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries
Stay home, stay safe - respect park closures
Watch this video message from King County Parks Director Warren Jimenez.
Thanks for doing your part to help keep our healthcare and frontline workers and community members safe by staying home and when enjoying the outdoors nearby. And don't worry, King County Parks and trails will be waiting for you when this is all behind us.

Today's moment of levity
Here’s a funny cartoon that appeared in The Inquirer. I hope your children got chocolates and treats as opposed to hand sanitizer and face masks. Strange times we are living in. But I hope we can all find moments of happiness in the little things and remember to stay positive. We are going to get through this.
Keep in touch
