Dunn awards Martin Luther King Medal of Distinguished Service to Rob Nist
Councilmember Dunn with Sylvia Nist
I was excited to honor District 9 resident Rob Nist with the MLK Medal of Distinguished Service, an award that recognizes individuals whose work has answered the question asked by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “What are you doing for others?”
In 2007, after realizing that local youth sports teams were struggling to find fields to play on, Rob rallied community support around the expansion and improvement of Ravensdale Park. Today, after many years of hard work by Rob and others, Ravensdale Park is a key resource for youth sports teams and families across Southeast King County.
Though Rob couldn't attend the award ceremony, we were able to welcome his wife Sylvia Nist, pictured above, to accept the award on Rob's behalf!
Submit your Flood Loss Report by March 2
Councilmember Reagan Dunn inspects flood damage in Maple Valley
This week, I traveled to several locations across District 9 to meet with people who have been impacted by flood damage. As a reminder: if your home, business, or property was damaged during recent flooding, there is still time to submit your flood loss report before Monday, March 2nd.
