Earlier this week, I took part in a ribbon cutting to celebrate the re-opening of Petrovitsky Park's two new playgrounds. I know this park is beloved by local families and youth soccer teams, and I will continue to advocate for investments that serve the Fairwood community!

Dunn Celebrates Grant Awarded to Enumclaw Senior Center
The Enumclaw Senior Center goes above and beyond to care for their local seniors. With new funding from King County, they’ll be able to serve more elders in need. I'm happy to help an organization that does such important work in the Enumclaw community. It’s always fun to stop by for a visit!
Critical D9 Projects Awarded Funding in 2020 Flood Control District Budget
Renton City Councilmember Armondo Pavone, King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, Renton Public Works Administrator Gregg Zimmerman, and Renton Public Works staff member Joe Farah listen to a briefing on work at the Black River Pump Station during a recent tour.
On Wednesday, the Flood Control District passed a 2020 budget that makes important investments in safeguarding people and property from the devastation that significant flooding can cause. Those investments include:
- $6.8 million to the City of Bellevue to increase drainage capacity along Factoria Boulevard, a major transportation corridor in Bellevue;
- $2 million to the City of Renton to provide new engines for three high-use pumps that power the Black River Pump Station, which protects areas of Renton, Tukwila, and Kent along the Green River from flooding; and
- $2.3 million to the City of Black Diamond to replace three deteriorating culverts along Covington Creek with a bridge that will provide migrating salmon with easier passage.
As Chair of the Flood Control District, I’m pleased that these District 9 flood protection projects received critical funding!
