Community Planning Sessions for Legal Aid for Prevention of Housing Loss

The Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) will host two community planning sessions to receive feedback and share plans for an upcoming funding opportunity. The upcoming funding opportunity seeks to help veterans, seniors and vulnerable populations in civil legal matters which may result in loss of housing. Guidance provided by the VSHSL Implementation Plan.

  • What can only the VSHSL do to provide effective legal advice or assistance for our most vulnerable communities?
  • What do legal aid providers need to be successful with this investment?
  • How can we ensure that we are racially, ethnically, culturally and regionally inclusive?

Housing Counseling and Foreclosure Prevention

Successful applicants will provide financial and/or legal counseling with an emphasis on housing counseling and education, resource referral and navigation, and outreach and education that leads to foreclosure prevention or mitigating housing loss. Applications due: October 23
