Last week, I joined my colleagues for the groundbreaking of an important project that will greatly improve flood safety in the Kent Valley and restore crucial salmon habitat along the Green River. As Chair of the Flood Control District, I’ve been supporting the Lower Russell Road Levee Setback project since its inception in 2013 and am excited to see construction begin!
It’s taken a lot of collaboration to keep this project moving forward, and I’d like to especially recognize my colleague Councilmember Dave Upthegrove, Kent Mayor Dana Ralph, and former Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke. Thank you for your leadership and partnership.
Fairwood Roundabout Installation Underway
Councilmember Dunn meets with King County Roads Division staff at the location of the new roundabout installation
I am happy that work is underway to install a roundabout at SE 176th Street at SE 171st Way in Fairwood. I recently visited the intersection and spoke with work crews about the project and check in on developments, because I know this modification is important to many in the Fairwood Community. The roadwork requires a lane restriction from 9 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday, and is expected to wrap up on Monday, October 21.
