The Veterans, Seniors and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) will host two community planning sessions to receive feedback and share plans for an upcoming funding opportunity. The upcoming funding opportunity seeks to help low-income persons with disabilities and their caregivers navigate human and housing service systems. Guidance provided by the VSHSL Implementation Plan.
Community Planning Sessions:
Wednesday, September 18, 2019 | 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Issaquah Library 10 Sunset Way Issaquah, WA 98027
Thursday, September 26, 2019 | 4:30 - 6:30 pm
Renton Library 100 Mill Ave S Renton, WA 98057
At these community planning sessions we will discuss:
- What particular challenges do persons with disabilities and their caregivers face when attempting to navigate human and housing service systems?
- How can we lift up and support self-advocacy with focused assistance in navigating service systems?
- What support around specialized system navigation assistance do caregivers need?
- How can we ensure that services are targeting low-income communities, communities of color and other marginalized groups?
- What would the community consider success?
