King County's Solid Waste Division Seeking Public Input on Cedar Hills Development
The public is invited to help shape the scope of an environmental review of proposed future development at the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill in Maple Valley.
From July 25 to Aug. 26, King County will take public comment on what to study in an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposal to maximize capacity of the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill within its current boundaries. Comments on alternatives, mitigation measures, probable significant adverse impacts, and required permits or other approvals are welcome.
SWD will also hold an open house at the King County Library System Service Center in Issaquah on Monday, Aug. 12.

Dunn Delivers Van to Maple Valley Post of King County Explorers
Councilmember Reagan Dunn hands over the van keys to King County Explorers
This week, I handed over the keys of a retired County van to the Maple Valley post of the King County Explorers, a career-based mentoring program serving youth from the cities of Maple Valley, Covington, and unincorporated SE King County. The Explorers program does fantastic work helping kids develop self-confidence, communication skills, and leadership skills as they serve the County. I am proud to support their efforts!
Thank you to Major Troy Olmsted of the Sheriff's Office, Maple Valley Chief of Police DJ Nesel, Maple Valley Mayor Sean Kelly, MVPD Police Civilian Assistant Robin Larsen, and MVPD Traffic Officer Greg Victor for joining me for the handoff of the van.
