Community Brief

Open Space Equity Cabinet

LCI Equity Cabinet
LCI Equity Cabinet report

On June 20th, King County Executive Dow Constantine joined members of the Open Space Equity Cabinet that he convened last year to announce a plan that prioritizes new investments in parks, forests, and other natural resources in communities that have historically been underserved and have the least access to green space. The plan was co-created by the 21-member Equity Cabinet comprised of representatives of community based organizations and Parks Department staff.

Partnership with the Equity Cabinet ensures that the County consistently applies an equity-based approach to investments in open space that redress disparities by deploying resources where needs are greatest.

The Equity Cabinet's full report and recommendations can by found on the County's Land Conservation Initiative page.
