Your Update on What's Happening at the King County Council

Dear Friends:

Summer is fast approaching, and your calendars are likely already starting to fill up. With that in mind, I want to make you aware of some important dates that you may want to mark down as well.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be hosting four town halls in unincorporated King County to connect with these communities about the issues that matter to them. County staff will also be on hand to share about the County’s current projects and programs in unincorporated areas. Please consider attending so you can share your voice and stay engaged with King County’s work. You can find more information on our town hall meetings below.

Also—Big Backyard Movies are back at a park near you! Throughout the summer, there will be three outdoor movies screenings, courtesy of King County Parks. These are free events that are fun for the whole family. Details on two upcoming screening times and locations are below as well. Stay tuned for our announcement of the third Big Backyard movie!

I hope to see you at any of these upcoming events.

Sincerely,

Reagan Dunn

Secure Your Load

Secure Your Load Day

On June 6th, in honor of those whose lives have been impacted or taken by unsecured loads and road debris, District 9 resident Robin Abel reminds us to “secure your load as if everyone you love is driving in the car behind you.” It only takes five easy steps:

  1. Tie down load with rope, netting or straps
  2. Tie large objects directly to the vehicle or trailer
  3. Cover the entire load with a sturdy tarp or netting
  4. Don’t overload the vehicle
  5. Always double check load to make sure a load is secure
