On March 23 bus routes are changing. All buses in the Downtown Transit Tunnel will now travel on surface streets.

Service Changes are coming to downtown Seattle bus stops on Saturday, March 23

Do you take the bus to downtown Seattle? If so, there’s a good chance that beginning Saturday, March 23 your bus stop downtown will be changing.

Seven bus routes, including the Metro 255 and Sound Transit 550, will shift from the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel to surface streets to accommodate the Washington State Convention Center construction and future Sound Transit Link light rail expansion.

In order to accommodate these new buses using downtown surface streets, additional bus-only lanes have been installed on portions of 5th and 6th Avenues in Downtown Seattle. Metro routes 252, 255, 257 and 311 departing downtown Seattle will now use these new bus-only lanes.
