Dunn to Serve as Vice Chair in 2019

I am honored to announce that I have been appointed, with unanimous and bipartisan Council support, as Vice Chair of the King County Council for 2019.

Additionally, I will serve as:

- Chair of the King County Flood Control District

- Vice Chair of the Employment and Administration Committee

and a Member of the following committees: 

- Committee of the Whole

- Local Services, Regional Roads & Bridges

- Law and Justice

- Regional Water Quality Committee

I believe the coming year will be a productive one, and I look forward to working with my fellow Councilmembers to find real results that best serve the residents of King County.

The Alaska Way Viaduct Closes Today—Here’s How to Get Around

You are likely already aware that today is the day that the Alaskan Way Viaduct closes for good. In a few weeks, the new tunnel is set to open up in its place. In the meantime, commuters in the surrounding area are likely to face worse traffic congestion than usual.

Here’s a list of resources to help you get from A to B in the next few weeks. Please consider commuting by public transit, joining a rideshare program, or even working from home if possible.

Help King County Pick a New Name for the Eastside Rail Corridor

Did you know that the Eastside Rail Corridor (ERC) will soon have a new name? The ERC Regional Advisory Council wants to hear your thoughts on the potential names, and you have until next Friday, January 18th to provide your input on what that name should be! Here are the four names are currently being considered for the 42-mile corridor connecting Renton, Bellevue, Kirkland, Woodinville and Redmond:

- The Eastway

- The 425

- The Eastrail

- The E
