Public Health - Seattle & King County has a great opportunity for a full-time Dentist who will support our Renton Dental Clinic. Our clinic provides preventive, restorative, emergent, and prosthodontic services to an ethnically diverse population of children, pregnant women, and low-income adults. This position serves a high patient volume in a fast-paced clinic. Between two dentists and four dental assistants, the clinic serves an average of 40 clients per day. The candidate selected for this position will work well within a team environment, ensuring that the clinic runs smoothly while providing exceptional patient care and meeting visit targets. Examples of Duties:
  •  Perform clinical duties as allowed by the Washington State Dental Practice Act, RCW 18.32.
  • Provide clinical dental services to targeted populations, such as homeless adults and teens.
  • Collaborate with site management and other staff dentist to provide leadership in quality dental practice and optimum team functioning.
  • Provide oversight of clinical dental practice.
  • Provide professional and technical expertise and direction to dental assistants/dental hygienists.
  • Attend off-site staff and dental practice meetings with the ability to return to work site within a reasonable time frame.
Qualifications:
  •  Current Washington State License to practice dentistry.
  • A National Provider Identification (NPI) must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Public Health can assist with acquiring DEA registration.
  • The selected candidate must be able to work as a Medicaid accepted provider. Public Health will assist selected candidate in registration with Medicaid.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of Dental Public Health Practice.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills regarding preventive, restorative, and prosthodontic dentistry.
  • Ability to provide leadership and work as a team member in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Skilled in team building, leadership and problem-solving.
  • Skilled in managing conflict, reading situations quickly, and using listening and cooperation to settle disputes equitably.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining working relationships and working with diverse populations, staff, and cultures.
Desirable Qualifications
  •  Experience in quadrant dentistry.
  • Experience working with clients with complex medical and mental health issues.
  • Experience working with homeless populations.
  • Experience with simple and complex extractions.
  • Experienced working in a community or public health setting.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records.

Work Location:
This position will primarily work at the Renton Public Health Center located at 3201 NE 7th Street, Renton, WA  98056.  On occasion, this position may be deployed to other Public Health Centers and service sites to meet operational needs.

Work Schedule: This position has a regular schedule of M-F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and may be required to work outside of these days and hours.
