Have a Safe Fourth of July!
Learn about your local firework restrictions, attend local celebrations, and get ready for a great Fourth of July!
Firework displays are an exciting tradition that help to celebrate America's Declaration of Independence and the birth of our great nation. I would encourage you and your loved ones to enjoy this wonderful holiday safely by planning ahead. An increasing number of cities in King County have bans on fireworks, click here for a full list.
For those who live in unincorporated communities fireworks are legal but have some restrictions, for a full list click here. If you are planning on setting off your own fireworks, please be sure you are making safe choices for those around you. There are also a number of firework shows located around District 9 this year. Some of those shows are listed below.
Last year I heard an increased number of concerns about the illegal use of fireworks so recently I worked with my colleagues to prioritize funding for emphasis patrols in unincorporated King County. An extra 300 hours of enforcement will be provided for additional patrols on July 2nd through July 4th by the King County Sheriff’s Office.
