Non Revenue Vehicle Shop Assistant (Transit Utility Service Worker -– Assistant)

Position Summary
We are seeking a part-time shop assistant to provide general shop support to Vehicle Maintenance Transit Division in the Non-Revenue Vehicle Base by cleaning vehicles, the shop and equipment as well as provide inventory support. There is a strong emphasis on safety while working in a high traffic area. This position is specifically for candidates that qualify for King County's Supported Employment Program (SEP)

Who May Apply
The recruitment for this position is open to all qualified applicants who are active clients of Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), and who currently receive and will maintain long-term employment support from a County-contracted Employment Service Provider. 

Vacancy Information
This recruitment will be used to fill one current career service position at the Non-Revenue Vehicle (NRV) Base of the Vehicle Maintenance Section of Transit located in SODO District of Seattle.  

In addition, this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future career service, special duty assignment (SDA) and/or Term Limited Temporary (TLT) positions that may occur in this Transit Utility Worker- Assistant classification within the Transit Division. The eligibility pool would be valid for up to twelve months upon creation, at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Non-Revenue Vehicle Group of Vehicle Maintenance
The Non-Revenue Vehicle (NRV) team is responsible for the maintenance, inspection and management of Metro's fleet of 650+ vehicles.  This fleet includes everything from small passenger cars to large tow trucks.  When you work for NRV you are helping keep your co-workers safe so Metro can serve the community.

Work Location
The current vacancy will be assigned to Non-Revenue Vehicle (NRV) Base located at 1301 Airport Way South Bldg 3 Rm 100, Seattle 98134, which is close to King County Metro bus lines, the Link Light Rail-International District stop and Sounder- King Street Station. Future opportunities may be located at various Transit locations.

Work Schedule
The position's base work schedule is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday; alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is overtime eligible with prior supervisory approval.
